In 1937, Hans and Jens Hansen – Oluf Lund's uncles – took over what was then a large and well trimmed business with 12 employed men.
The increasing demand for lumber also called for more power so they installed a big diesel engine, which along with the steam engine from 1910 is still present at the sawmill.
Hans and Jens Hansen never changed much a they ran the sawmill until 1997 when Hans Hansen died.
Therefore the mill, Donna Arbuckle-Lund and Oluf Lund took over in 1998, was like taken out of the 1930s, and it offers an interesting glance into the past.
Now the aim is to maintain the mill and present it as a unique piece of industrial history with the old machines in the old surroundings.
The core in Oluf Lund's activity has since 1978 been furniture design and production. Oluf is a skilled carpenter and he has a degree from the School of Architecture in Aarhus specializing in furniture.
